Many millennials have come to believe that going out is overrated—and too expensive. Dacia Paige recently created The Precious Home, an interior design and candle company, to help her fellow millennials and others better enjoy the place where they probably spend most of their time.

There’s nothing wrong with being a homebody. And as in Dacia’s case, simply being comfortable in your own space can be the seeds for a business. A HGTV connoisseur and home decor shopping addict, Dacia used her knowledge to help her friends bring life to their spaces—so much so that they pushed her to consider helping others professionally.

After months of planning, The Precious Home officially launched in October 2018. Entrepreneurship is not an undertaking for the faint of heart: Dacia made the conscious effort to fuse her love for everything home with her faith.

Proverbs 24:3-4. By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. These verses from Proverbs are part of The Precious Home’s foundation, and if you browse their collection, you’ll notice the candle names are biblically inspired.

Dacia’s mission has an environmental tint, too. Not to knock established brands like Yankee Candle, but most of their wax contains harmful ingredients that emit toxins. And most often, the candle wicks aren’t natural either, containing chemicals such as lead. All Precious Home candles are made from a healthier blend of soy wax; the vanilla, cotton, or lavender scents you love can be enjoyed without side-effects.

Whether it’s creating a new scent or reinvigorating a classic one—or helping someone decorate their home—this first grade teacher is putting her passion to work after hours. All young brands have to fight to establish trust with their customers; Dacia and The Precious Home are up to the challenge.
